Vijayawada: The high court on Thursday directed the police to serve notices to former YSRCP social media convenor Sajjala Bhargav Reddy under section 35(3) of the BNSS Act. The directive follows petitions filed by Bhargav Reddy seeking dismissal of multiple cases registered against him for alleged inappropriate and obscene posts on social media.
Emphasising the importance of adhering to the Supreme Court’s guidelines outlined in the Arnesh Kumar case, Justice BVLN Chakravarthy said as the sections filed against Bhargav Reddy involve offences punishable by up to seven years, the issuance of notices under the law is mandatory.
