After an incredible journey through Arunachal Pradesh, we spent an unforgettable four days at Kaziranga. Our homestay, conveniently located near the main gate of Kaziranga National Park, offered us both comfort and proximity to the National Park.
The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the two thrilling safaris across different zones of the park. We were fortunate to witness four out of the “Big Five”—the one-horned rhinoceros, wild elephants, swamp deer, and wild buffalo—while the elusive Royal Bengal Tiger managed to give us the slip not once but three times, each time by a whisker! Despite missing the tiger, the sheer abundance of wildlife left us in awe. Watching one-horned rhinos at close quarters, observing herds of wild elephants, and spotting plenty of bird species made each moment magical.
Beyond the safaris, a hidden gem we discovered in Kaziranga was the Treasured Wheels Museum—a remarkable vintage car and bike collection. My wife, Radhika, and I were absolutely enthralled by the vast collection. We spent nearly two hours marveling at the beautifully restored cars, bikes, and relics, each piece with its own story to tell. It was a fascinating journey through time and a testament to one man’s dedication to preserving history.
Kaziranga, with its wildlife wonders and unexpected delights like Treasured Wheelsmade for an enriching and memorable conclusion to our trip.
