Days after a viral video showed an influencer throwing a ₹20,000 cash bundle onto the roadside of the Outer Ring Road (ORR) and challenging viewers to participate in a cash hunt, the Ghatkesar police arrested him.
The Rachakonda police said the reckless stunt caused chaos, significant inconvenience, and posed a severe threat to road safety.
Acting on the viral video, G. Sudheer Babu, the Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda, directed the Ghatkesar Police to take immediate action. Following an investigation, the police identified and arrested Bhanuchander. A case has been registered against him for his irresponsible behaviour, which endangered lives and disrupted public order.
“Social media should be used to inspire and educate, not for acts of recklessness that put others at risk,” said the Commissioner. “We urge individuals to use their platforms responsibly and to consider the consequences of their actions,” he said.
The incident has sparked widespread condemnation across social media platforms, with many criticising Bhanuchander for setting a dangerous example for others.
