VIJAYAWADA: The Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) introduced a first-of-its-kind mobile application in India, the ‘Kreeda App‘, designed to modernise and streamline sports management across the state. Minister for Transport, Youth, and Sports, Mandipalli Ramprasadh Reddy, officially launched the app at a city event on Thursday.
The app aims to eliminate malpractice in the issuance and misuse of sports quota certificates while providing a unified platform for managing comprehensive sports data. It ensures transparency in player registration, performance tracking, tournament applications, and equipment distribution.
Ramprasadh Reddy said that the app is a one-stop solution for all sports-related issues. “Players can register independently, through coaches, or associations and update their profiles, monitor performance, and access digitally signed achievement certificates via DigiLocker. The app features a centralised sports calendar, enabling players to apply for tournaments seamlessly. Additionally, it facilitates applications for incentives, job reservations, and professional course seats, restricted to Andhra Pradesh natives. No other state in the country developed such an app to date,” the minister said.
SAAP Chairman A Ravi Naidu said that the state govt is committed to providing support to the sportspersons and developing necessary infrastructure in coordination with the sports associations. Ravi Naidu said that the app helps upload the details of players and tournaments online in a transparent manner.
“Associations must upload annual event calendars, register players, form teams, and update event results on the app. Certificates generated for state-level events are digitally signed and uploaded to DigiLocker for athlete access. Out-of-state event details must also be registered on the portal,” Ravi Naidu said.
SAAP MD PS Girisha said that the app extends beyond athletes, offering modules for coach performance tracking, real-time inventory management, grievance redressal, and asset management. Coaches and associations are required to update performance metrics and attendance, ensuring accountability, he added.
Secretary Vinay Chand said that all certificates will be readily available in the DigiLocker mobile app anytime, which is equivalent to the original certificate. Vinay Chand added that AP is very proud to issue digital sports certificates and only two states, AP and Tamil Nadu, are issuing digital certificates.
Vinay Chand said that the Kreeda App will also help in maintaining an inventory of sports equipment and assessing their condition at regular intervals.
