In a surprising slip-up, Amazon India has revealed a key detail about the upcoming OnePlus 13R smartphone: its processor. The e-commerce giant’s landing page for the OnePlus 13 series launch event, scheduled for January 7, 2025, has listed the OnePlus 13R as featuring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The OnePlus 13—as expected—has the Snapdragon 8 Elite.
The OnePlus 13R getting the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is hardly a surprise. Its predecessor—OnePlus 12R—had the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. OnePlus recently confirmed the launch of the OnePlus 13R alongside the OnePlus 13, claiming it to be a “pocket powerhouse” without revealing the choice of chipset underneath. Apart from the processor, the Amazon page has also teased other key features of the OnePlus 13R, including battery capacity. The OnePlus 13R, as expected, also has a bunch of AI features to edit photos and enhance productivity.
The OnePlus 13R, unlike the OnePlus 13, is still a mystery though we’re expecting more details to become clear on December 26, 2025, when OnePlus will officially launch the OnePlus Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro in China. The Ace 5 is expected to be the blueprint for the OnePlus 13R.
Elsewhere, OnePlus has confirmed the 13R will come in a choice of Nebula Noir and Astral Trail with a finish a reminiscent of “star trails.” OnePlus is using Corning Gorilla Glass 7i on the front and back. The frame is made of metal. The OnePlus 13R has an 8mm thin body and a trio of camera sensors on the back. The battery is sizeable at 6,000mAh while the operating system is billed to be “lighter than air.”
With the official launch just around the corner, anticipation for the OnePlus 13R is running high. The Amazon reveal adds fuel to the fire, confirming that the device will pack serious power under the hood. Stay tuned for more details.
