Jayashankar Bhupalpally Collector Rahul Sharma has asked the engineering officials concerned to complete the construction of the Head Regulator of the Chinna Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme at Beerasagar village in Mahadevpur mandal by March 2025.
The Collector performed bhoomi puja for the Head Regulator and allied works on Friday. Kataram Sub-Collector Mayank Singh was also present. The project was conceived in 2007. It aims to cater to the irrigation needs of 63 villages in Manthani Assembly constituency by lifting 4.50 tmc ft water from Godavari river, official sources said.
Following the initiative of Minister for IT and Industries D. Sridhar Babu, who represents Manthani Assembly constituency, the government has recently accorded administrative sanction for ₹571.57 crore for completion of the pending works.
The Collector further asked the engineers of the executing agency of the project to complete the electrical and related works to facilitate the dry run of the pump house in March next year as per schedule.
He wanted the engineering officials to accelerate the pace of execution of the remaining works in adherence to quality standards to ensure speedy completion of the lift irrigation scheme for the benefit of farmers in the constituency.
