IIPE to organise programme for government school teachers and students to promote science and higher education from December 21


Indian Institute of Petroleum & Energy (IIPE) will organise Scientific Social Responsibility programmes, College and School Teachers Education and Academic Mentoring (CS-TEAM) and LCS-SFP (Local College and School Students’ Fellowship Programme) here from December 21 to 23.

Speaking to reporters here on Friday, IIPE Director Shalivahan mentioned that it is inline with the Central government’s Jigyasa programme to promote science and higher education. The government schoolchildren and teachers will be tutored and acquainted with the latest developments in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics. He said that the number of schoolchildren intake for the programme will be increased when the institute will start functioning from its Sabbavaram campus.

The IIPE team thanked the Collectors of Anakapalli and Visakhapatnam districts for helping in the selection process. A total of 25 students and 20 faculty were nominated by the DEOs of both the districts. To promote girl education, IIPE will always consider minimum 50% girl students for the programme, the team said.
