By offering more equipment, features and technology with Syros, Kia is making a distinction from similarly sized Sonet sub 4m SUV
Started with the Seltos, Kia India’s journey has been a remarkable one. The company quickly made a name for itself in the premium SUV and MPV space. Expanding the portfolio, we saw the unveiling of Syros SUV yesterday. This is a sub 4m SUV, while offering more equipment and features than Sonet.
It is based on a reinforced version of K1 platform on which Hyundai Exter, Casper, Grand i10, Aura and Santro were based. Syros promises more excitement, safety, technology and space when compared to Sonet. Let’s go through the detailed variant-wise features breakdown and powertrain combination options.
Kia Syros – Trims, Colour, Powertrain Combos
For starters, Kia Syros will be offered in 8 colour options – Frost Blue, Glacier White Pearl, Sparkling Silver, Gravity Grey, Intense Red, Imperial Blue, Pewter Olive and Aurora Black Pearl. There are 6 trim levels on offer – HTK, HTK (O), HTK+, HTX, HTX+ and HTX+ (O). There are four interior colour themes with different trim levels as seen in image above.
Depending on trim levels, Syros offers 15-inch wheels, 16-inch alloy wheels and 17-inch alloy wheels. Ground clearance is not disclosed yet, but only automatic variants are offered rear disc brakes, while manual variants still has to make do with rear drum brakes. Notably, top trims like HTX+ and HTX+ (O) miss out on manual gearbox entirely.
Speaking of gearbox, the 1.0L Turbo Petrol engine gets either a 6MT (first for a Kia) or a 7-speed DCT. 6MT option is offered in HTK, HTK (O), HTK+ and HTX trims. 7-speed DCT is offered in HTK+, HTX, HTX+ and HTX+ (O). 1.5L Diesel engine starts from HTK (O) trim. 6MT gearbox is offered with HTK (O), HTK+ and HTX. The 6TC option can only be had in HTX+ and HTX+ (O).

Starting with HTK trim, we get a double D-Cut steering wheel, Digital Tiger Face, Ice Cube Halogen Headlamps, R15 Steel Wheels with Full Cover, Streamline Door Handles, Front & Rear Skid Plates in silver finish, Shark Fin Antenna, Integrated Spoiler, All Black & Grey Dual Tone Interiors with Matte Orange Accents, Black & Grey Semi Leatherette Seats.
Notable features include 4.2” Color TFT MID, 12.3” infotainment screen, 4-Speakers, Wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, Steering Mounted Audio Control, Rear View Camera with Dynamic Guidelines, Type-C ports (Front 2 and Rear 2), Front 12V Power Outlet, All Power Windows, Remote Key with Central Locking, Day and Night IRVM, Electrically Adjustable ORVM, Manual AC, Rear AC Vents, Rear Door Sunshade and Burglar Alarm.
2. HTK (O)
With HTK (O), added features over HTK include an Electric Sunroof, LED cabin lights, 16” Alloy Wheels (D1.5 only), Driver Seat Height Adjust, Auto Fold ORVM with LED Blinkers, Roof Rails, 2 Tweeters and more.
3. HTK+
On top of what is offered in HTK (O), HTK+ gets 16” Alloy Wheels, Dual Pane Panoramic Sunroof, Cloud Blue & Grey Dual Tone Interiors with Mint Green Accents and Cloud Blue & Grey Semi Leatherette Seats. Other notable features include 60:40 Split Rear Seats with Slide & Recline Function, Rear Armrest, Rear Parcel Shelf, Driver Window Auto Up/ Down, Cruise Contro, Adjustable Rear Headrests, Front Armrest (MT only).
With 1.0L 7-DCT combination, HTK+ offers a few exclusive features like Smart Key with Push Button Start, Driver Window Up/Down through Key, Paddle Shifters, Rear Disc Brakes, Drive Modes (Eco/ Normal/ Sport), Traction Modes (Sand/ Mud/ Snow) and Electric Parking Brake with Auto Hold.
4. Cooperatives
