A 30-year-old man from Gajuwaka reportedly died of a heart attack in Canada. The incident came to light after the man’s parents met Gajuwaka MLA and TDP-A.P. president Palla Srinivasa Rao recently and sought help in bringing back the body of their son.
Gajuwaka police said in August this year, P. Phani Kumar from Gajuwaka went to Calgary in Canada to pursue his M.S. He was reportedly living with his friends. Recently, Phani Kumar’s roommates called his parents – Nagababu and Geetha — and informed them that he died in his sleep and it is suspected to be due to a heart attack. Mr. Nagababu approached the local MLA and informed him about the matter.
“I immediately contacted Member of Parliament M. Sribharat and requested him to take steps through the Indian Embassy. Meanwhile, I have written to District Collector M.N. Harendhira Prasad to pursue the matter. We are informing the General Administration Department of the State government of the matter,” Mr. Srinivasa Rao told The Hindu.
The man’s death is being investigated by the local police to ascertain more facts. “We expect that the body may reach in around a week,” he said.
