The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has reiterated that the party has never asked the government to not book a case on the Formula-E race issue but has only been insisting upon a debate in the Assembly.
“However, the ruling party has sent us out and continued the debate on the new land law and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy went on spreading misinformation on the issue by stating that there was a corruption of ₹600 crore in the case” senior leader Harish Rao said while addressing a press conference here on Friday.
He stated that the payment made to the Formula-E company was about ₹47 crore and the Chief Minister was talking about ₹600 crore corruption. He stated that there could be some procedural irregularities or lapses but there was no illegality in the issue.
Mr. Harish Rao also ridiculed the charge of poll code violation as the payment to the Formula company was made much before the election code had come into force and even if there was any violation, ACB had nothing to do with it. He sought to know why the Formula-E company was not named as an accused in the case.
The haste in which the ED had reportedly sought the details of the Formula-E case from the ACB in less than 24 hours of booking the case also indicated the clear understanding between the Congress and BJP, he alleged.
