The fine arts fair organised by Department of Fine Arts, Andhra University (AU), was inaugurated by university Vice-Chancellor Prof G. Sasibhushana Rao on Saturday. He said that the students displayed marvellous artworks with creativity in the expo held at the department premises in Sivajipalem here. The students showcased their artistic works, including sculptures and decorative items created using various mediums.
Speaking further, he mentioned that arrangements are being made for the upcoming centenary celebrations of AU. He also announced that a competition will soon be held to design the logo for the centenary celebrations. He emphasised that the cooperation of the Fine Arts Department faculty and students would be crucial for this initiative. He hoped that the exhibition would be a great success.
AU College of Arts and Commerce principal Prof A. Narasimha Rao said that the Department of Fine Arts serves as a platform to shape the diverse thoughts that continuously emerge from the youth. He further added that recognising and encouraging students’ talent is an ongoing process. He also praised the various art forms, such as paintings, sculptures, and others.
Head of the department D. Simhachalam said that the exhibition would continue till December 29 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m..
