Pedapalli: The delivery boy of a popular food delivery app was arrested on charges of operating a mule account, into which money stolen from a woman in Mancherial was transferred.

According to Godavarikhani cybercrime police, cyber crooks had stolen Rs.31.6 lakh from a woman in Mancherial.


Based on a complaint lodged by the victim, cybercrime police station SHO (DSP) M Venkataramana and Inspector J Krishnamurthy began investigation and arrested Mohammad Awad from Dabeerpura in Hyderabad.

On questioning, Awad revealed that he had opened three bank accounts in his name and gave the account details to Iliyas as the latter promised a commission of Rs.300 on the deposit of every Rs.1 lakh.

An AC technician by profession, Awad was also working as a delivery boy for a popular food delivery app. He gave the bank details as he was getting the commission, police said.
