A Hyderabad influencer was arrested after a video of his so-called ‘money hunt’ stunt on the city’s Outer Ring Road (ORR) went viral. His stunt brought chaos, causing traffic disruptions on the road.
The incident, which was part of a publicity stunt, involved the creator tossing Rs 20,000 in cash onto the roadside and inviting his followers to participate in a challenge to find it.
The influencer, Bhanuchander, also known as Anchor Chandu, 30, is a resident of Balanagar.
The reckless act documented in the video quickly surfaced. The Rachakonda Police wasted no time in reacting. They shared the video in a post on X, announcing his arrest. It shows the influencer promoting the event, hiding cash in a bush, and ultimately being detained by police.

In the post, the Police said, “Irresponsible Instagram Content Creator Arrested. Recently, a viral video surfaced showing an individual throwing a Rs 20,000 bundle on the roadside of ORR and challenging viewers to a money hunt.”
“This irresponsible act caused chaos, inconvenience, and posed a significant threat to road safety. Such reckless acts not only endanger lives but also set a bad example for others. Social media should be a platform to inspire and educate, not to act irresponsibly,” they said.
