It was a very foggy day and still, 10 cars showed up for the drive, which was a big number to what I had anticipated given we started quite early.
BHPian travelerchatora recently shared this with other enthusiasts:
Shettihalli Church Drive for Sunday
This is my first attempt to pen down something which is not an office email. So please bear with me.
After attempting to get a membership of TBhp almost 5-6 times, I finally had the ‘Meri selection ho gayi hai?!’ moment.
For the uninitiated: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hm7kZAmG3Fw
I wanted to participate in forums and write down the reviews or answer route queries. But when it came down to writing I had nothing.
Anyway, as soon as I got added to the forum, all I was looking for was to meet fellow car and travel enthusiasts. I wanted to go for the drives and thanks to @Ishan0278 I was part of one such group.
Since I had recently bought my Taigun GT DSG, the itch to go for a drive was uncontrollable. I posted on our group and found a few folks interested in joining.
Fast Forward to the Drive Day –
It was a very foggy day and still, 10 cars showed up for the drive, which was a big number to what I had anticipated given we started quite early.
We stopped for a quick breakfast at Food Culture Yadiyur, which was recommended by Ishan0278, but he couldn’t join us due to a last-minute change in plans.
We introduced ourselves to each other and had a light breakfast. Some folks joined only for breakfast so we gathered for a quick photograph and rest and continued our onward journey to Shettihalli Church.
Left to Right: Me, Ramesh, Pradosh, Pranika, Arvind, Raghu, Chetan, John, Sunny, Madhav, Pooja, Sud, Ravi, Vishal and Vaibhav. (Apologies in advance if I got any of the name wrong)
We also had a young enthusiast with us, Pranika, bikerzindia’s daughter. She was the most excited among us all. She woke up quite early for the cold day it was. Probably because she could escape from her studies on Sunday .
Barring the last 15-20 km, the road to Shettihalli Church was good. It was a quiet day at the spot with only us TBhpians who were there to enjoy the view of the submerged Church. We snapped a few photographs and parked our cars together to get the picture together.
The playdate.
Post the photographs, a few moved ahead for the nearby reservoir and others started back to BLR to beat the Sunday traffic on Nice Road.
Overall it was a good day and I enjoyed a lot meeting everyone who could join. I am looking for more trips with other members in the city.
