Why is KCR running away from assembly: CM Revanth Reddy | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy said leader of the opposition K Chandrasekhar Rao must face the assembly and reply to the questions on his 10-year governance as CM.
“No doubt, it is his prerogative to attend or not attend the assembly sessions. He cannot be forced to come, but for the last year, he did not attend the sessions. He can at least seek the speaker’s permission and give his written responses instead of evading the assembly,” Revanth said in the House on Saturday.
Since the Congress came to power in Dec 2023, KCR has not attended the sessions. “It is because of Congress leader Sonia Gandhi that Telangana state has become a reality, but KCR enjoyed power for 10 years,” he said. Revanth said instead of developing Telangana, KCR took it backwards by 100 years.
The chief minister said the BRS was misleading the public with their talk both in the assembly and outside. “While the president of the party that misleads refuses to come to the assembly, the working president comes,” he said, alleging that the only thing the BRS wants to do is criticise the Congress govt and, in the process, come in the way of the development that was being taken up.
Charging the previous govt with neglecting hostels and educational institutions and not constructing buildings for them, he said they oppose the state govt for accepting Rs 100 crore from industrialist Adani for the Young India Skills University. “We returned it. It is not a personal loss to me. But the BRS is opposed to taking up any developmental activity,” he said.
“I am suffering the punishment for the sins that you committed during your rule,” Revanth said, commenting that KCR ruined the financial condition of the state.
