The competition in the sub-4 metre SUV segment has just heated up with the official unveiling of the all-new Kia Syros. This compact SUV is set to make its first public appearance at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show in January, followed by its market launch in February. The South Korean automaker also plans to introduce the electric iteration of the Syros to challenge the dominance of the Tata Nexon EV, MG Windsor, and Mahindra XUV400 EV. It will be the first mass-market and affordable electric offering from Kia India. As of now, details about the Kia Syros EV are unavailable. However, here is all the key information we expect from this upcoming Kia electric SUV.

Kia Syros EV Platform & Powertrain

Kia’s new electric SUV might share its platform with the Hyundai Inster EVwhich is sold in global markets. It will be built on the K1 architecture, which also underpins the ICE-powered Syros. This platform has been specifically designed for compact vehicles. The powertrain setup could also be the same as the Hyundai Inster EV, which is offered with two battery packs: 42kWh and 49kWh. The former delivers a claimed power output of 97bhp and a range of 300km, while the latter promises 115bhp and a range of 355km. Both batteries offer a maximum torque of 147Nm.

Kia Syros EV Design & Features

The new Kia electric SUV is expected to retain most of its design elements, interior layout, and features from its ICE counterpart. However, a few changes are likely to be made to highlight its electric nature. The ICE-powered Syros has the best interior in its segment, packed with several advanced features, flexible seating configurations, and premium material quality. The same is expected from its electric version.

Kia Syros EV Price Expectations & Launch Timeline

The new Kia electric SUV will be manufactured with a high level of localization and is expected to come with an aggressive price tag. It’s estimated to cost under Rs 15 lakh. Official launch details of the Syros EV are yet to be revealed, although it is reported to hit the roads in 2026.
