Cabinet meet on Dec 30, to take call on Rythu Bharosa

Hyderabad: A crucial meeting of the cabinet is to be held by Dec 30 to discuss important issues such as the eligibility criteria for implementation of Rythu Bharosa scheme after Sankranti.
Officials from the panchayat raj and rural development, agriculture, finance, backward classes welfare, and civil supplies departments, among others, were preparing notes on Rythu Bharosa.
They were also working on the proposed eligibility criteria for 12,000 financial assistance for landless agriculture labourers, the caste census and status of BC reservation exercise, panchayat elections, and ration cards, to be submitted to the cabinet.
Chief minister A Revanth Reddy went to Kanyakumari on Monday in connection with a Christmas-related programme conducted by local MP Vijay Vasanth and is expected to return to city on Tuesday afternoon.
Revanth and TPCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud would participate in the centenary celebrations of CSI Medak Cathedral on Wednesday on the occasion of Christmas.
On Thursday morning, Revanth, along with the TPCC president and some Congress MPs from Telangana, are expected to fly to Belagavi to attend the centenary of the Belgaum (now Belagavi) session of Congress.
While the CM and TPCC chief would attend the CWC meeting on Dec 26, the MPs would stay back for the centenary session on Dec 27.
The sources said the state govt might need 1,000 crore for 6,000 of the total 12,000 financial assistance to be extended to agriculture labourers. Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka announced that the sop would be doled out from Dec 28. The details of this and other schemes were to be discussed in the cabinet mee, with a focus on Rythu Bharosa, as part of which 15,000 per acre per annum has to be extended to the farmers.
