Hyderabad: The revenue department has begun the exercise of appointing village revenue officers by calling for options from former VROs, who worked until Oct 2023.
Chief commissioner of land administration Navin Mittal issued a circular on Monday to all the district collectors, asking them to seek options from VROs and village revenue assistants.
“Telangana is contemplating placing one village-level officer for every revenue village. To understand the availability of those who worked as VROs before abolition, as well as VRAs whose services were regularised and allotted to other departments with appropriate qualifications, data is being collected from those interested in filling the position of the proposed VLOs. Hence, interested individuals may be asked to fill the form with complete data before Dec 28,” Navin Mittal said.
After the abolition of the VRO and VRA system in 2020, the state govt took options from them and adjusted them in various departments such as irrigation, panchayat raj, and municipal administration.
