Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh high court on Tuesday bid a grand farewell to Justice G Narendar, who has been appointed as the chief justice of Uttarakhand high court. The full court farewell was held in the chief justice’s court hall and was attended by all judges, members of the bar, and high court employees.
Chief Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur lauded the efforts of Justice Narendar in resolving thousands of cases by organising Lok Adalats. As chairman of Andhra Pradesh Legal Services Authority, Justice Narendar took the initiative by speaking to insurance companies to settle the claims of victims of recent floods in Vijayawada expeditiously. The Chief Justice further praised the kind gestures of Justice Narendar, who donated hearing aids to 57 children with hearing impairments. He also conducted eye camps and helped two children regain their vision. Besides rendering justice to litigants in a speedy manner, his contributions as a member of various committees in the high court were exemplary, he said.
Justice Narendar said his 14-month tenure in the AP high court will remain a “memorable period of my life”. He credited the Chief Justice for his achievements by always encouraging his ideas and thoughts. He thanked all members of the bar and bench for supporting him during his HC stint.
Advocate general Dammalapati Srinivas, AP High Court Bar Association president K Chidambaram, and deputy solicitor general P Ponnarao praised Justice Narendar for his services.
