A 6-year-old boy has died after getting struck by an airbag which deployed following an accident with an SUV.According to reports, the SUV crashed into a median and landed on the bonnet of Harsh Arethia’s car. This triggered the airbag, which hit the 6-year-old, who was sitting in the front seat.The accident took place near the Blue Diamond Hotel junction in Sector 28, Vashi, on Saturday at 11:30 pm. Harsh lost consciousness after getting hit by the airbag. He was declared brought dead at a civic hospital. While there were no external injuries, doctors suspect that he might have died of shock and haemorrhage due to polytrauma. This accident is a grim reminder of why you should never let children, especially those under the age of 13, sit in the front seat of the vehicle.The SUV driver has been booked for rash and negligent driving causing death.Source:TOI
