Pushpa 2 worldwide box office collection day 19: Allu Arjun’s blockbuster set to break past Rs 1600 crore mark, targets Baahubali 2’s all-time record | Telugu News

Pushpa 2 worldwide box office collection day 19: Allu Arjun and director Sukumar’s Pushpa 2: The Rule is still enjoying a great run in theatres across the globe. While the film is all set to enter into the Rs 1,600-crore club, it saw a big drop in numbers on Monday, December 23. Though it is expected for any film to see a decline during weekdays, it is to be seen how Pushpa 2 holds its ground throughout its third week.

Pushpa 2 witnessed a significant decline in its earnings in India, with a drop of nearly Rs 20 crore. According to industry traacking website Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 32.95 crore on Day 18, but its earnings dipped to Rs 12.25 crore net on Monday, December 23. Despite this decline, Pushpa 2 continues to perform exceptionally well in the Hindi belt, outpacing its Telugu version, as per early estimates on Sacnilk. On December 23, the film’s Hindi version garnered Rs 9.75 crore net in India, with a notable difference in its Telugu earnings, which stood at Rs 2.2 crore net.

The 19-day total of Pushpa 2 now stands at Rs 1074.85 crore net in India. Soon, the film will complete a month in theatres. Despite the drop in numbers, the film’s overall performance remains impressive, with its total collection expected to continue growing. The film has grossed Rs 1506.7 crore at the worldwide box office.

The film’s success has been marred by a tragic incident that occurred on its premiere date, resulting in the death of a woman due to a stampede in Hyderabad. The incident has sparked widespread outrage, with Allu Arjun being summoned to the Chikkadpally police station in connection with the case. The controversy took a fresh turn on Sunday (December 22) when Allu Arjun’s Hyderabad house was vandalised by individuals claiming to be from the OU JAC (Joint Action Committee of Osmania University students).

Allu Arjun had previously addressed the press at his residence in Jubilee Hills, expressing his regret over the incident and denying allegations that he had made insensitive comments about the victim’s death. “I am sorry something this unfortunate happened in my presence. When people claim I said it’s okay someone died or is hospitalised, that’s character assassination. It hurts me to see false allegations leveled against me,” he said.

In a gesture of goodwill, the producer of the film, Naveen Yerneni of Mythri Movie Makers, donated Rs 50 lakh to the victim’s family on Monday. Meanwhile, a Hyderabad court granted bail to six individuals in connection with the case. As the investigation into the incident continues, the film’s team is likely to face further scrutiny and backlash. Despite this, Pushpa 2: The Rule remains a commercial success, with its box office collection continuing to grow.

On December 23, Yash Raj Films congratulated the team of Pushpa 2 on social media. Their message read, “Records are meant to be broken and new ones push everyone towards excellence. Congratulations to the entire #Pushpa2the rule team for rewriting history books. Fire Nahi, wildfire!!!!” Allu Arjun replied to the post, expressing his gratitude and humility. “Thank you … so graceful . Humbled by your wishes. Thank you , I am touched . May this record soon be broken by a heart-melting #YRF film , and may we all collectively move towards excellence,” he wrote. The exchange highlights the camaraderie and respect among film industry professionals, even as Pushpa 2 continues to make waves at the box office.
