Shyam Benegal has a lot of attachment to Hyderabad: Telangana CM

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy expressed his condolences on the death of renowned director, producer, writer, and Padma Bhushan awardee Shyam Benegal, who passed away on Monday (December 23, 2024). He said that the Indian cinema giant has a lot of attachment to Hyderabad.

“Born in Hyderabad and educated here, Shyam Benegal rose to the highest level in the film industry by winning the national awards seven times and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. He ushered in great changes in the film industry by making films like Ankur, Nishant, Manthanand Bhumika. I pray to God to grant peace to Shyam Benegal’s soul. I expressed deepest condolences to his family,” said Mr. Reddy.
