Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Madhya Pradesh on December 25 on the occasion of the 100th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of many development projects here in Khajuraho. With the laying of the foundation stone of Ken Betwa project, Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s dream will come true. Prime Minister Modi will release a commemorative postage stamp and coin on the occasion of the 100th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He will also lay the foundation stone of 1153 Atal Gram Good Governance buildings. These buildings will play an important role in the practical functioning of the functions and responsibilities of the Gram Panchayats for good governance at the local level.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee was born in Shinde ki Cantonment of Gwalior.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee was born on 25 December 1924 in Shinde ki Cantonment of Gwalior, located in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India. His father’s name was Shri Krishna Bihari Vajpayee and mother’s name was Krishna Devi. His primary education was in Gwalior only. He graduated from Victoria College and did M.A. in Political Science from DAV College, Kanpur.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee had studied LLB from this college of Kanpur.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee studied law with his father from DAV College, Kanpur. Both of them obtained law degree in the same class and during this time both of them also lived in the same hostel. When Atal Bihari Vajpayee came to DAV College, the movement against the British was at its peak. When he took admission in the year 1945, his hostel room number was 104. From here he took MA degree in Political Science. After this, he started studying LLB with his father. The father also stayed in the hostel with his son, but after joining politics, he left his LLB studies midway.

After joining Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, took part in Quit India Movement

Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji came in contact with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh in his early life. Do you know that he also participated in the ‘Quit India’ movement of 1942 and was imprisoned for 24 days. He started his political career with Bharatiya Janata Party. He was an MP in the Lok Sabha 10 times and in the Rajya Sabha twice. Let us tell you that he is the only MP who became MP from four different states Delhi, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. On 6 April 1980, he was appointed to the post of National President of Bharatiya Janata Party.

Took oath as the 10th Prime Minister of the country on 16 May 1996

Atal Bihari Vajpayee was sworn in as the 10th Prime Minister of the country on 16 May 1996. But this time he had to resign due to numerical strength. On 19 March 1998, Atal ji was again sworn in as the Prime Minister of the country and then on 13 October 1999, Atal ji took oath as the Prime Minister for the third time. He became the Foreign Minister in the Janata Party government in 1997 and also gave his speech in Hindi at a session of the United Nations.

Gave a speech in Hindi language at the United Nations

Atal Bihari Vajpayee was a veteran leader and had achieved a special position even among the opposition parties. Even Jawaharlal Nehru had predicted that one day Atal Bihari Vajpayee would be the Prime Minister of India. When he became the Foreign Minister, he gave a speech in the United Nations in Hindi language and was the first leader of the country to do so.

Made the world realize India’s nuclear power

It was Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the Prime Minister of India, who made the world realize India’s nuclear power. Despite many international pressures, he got the Pokhran nuclear test done and made India a nuclear power country. Former Prime Minister Narasimha Rao considered Atal Bihari Vajpayee as his political guru. To build stronger relations with Pakistan, he started a bus service named Sada-e-Sarhad from Delhi to Lahore on 19 February 1999 in which he also traveled once.

He was also awarded Padma Vibhushan in 1992 and the country’s highest honor Bharat Ratna in December 2014.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee has been summoned many times. He was awarded awards like Padma Vibhushan in 1992, Lokmanya Tilak Award in 1994, Best Parliamentarian Award and Govind Vallabh Pant Award. He was also awarded the country’s highest honor Bharat Ratna in December 2014. Current Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also been greatly influenced by his life and Atal ji himself was a fan of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee.

He died on 16 August 2018

His health started deteriorating in 2000, he underwent knee replacement surgery in 2001, he suffered a stroke in 2009 due to which he could not talk properly and after being ill for a long time, he passed away on 16 August 2018. has expired.
