Due to the ongoing cyclonic activity in the Bay of Bengal, some parts of Telangana, including Hyderabad, experienced light rain and drizzle on Wednesday. “The cyclonic activity in the Bay of Bengal is weakening. As a result, easterly winds are prevailing across most parts of Telangana. These winds, combined with local moisture, are causing light rain or drizzle in parts of the State, which is expected to continue for two more days,” said Dharma Raju, a scientist at the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Hyderabad center. As a result, the IMD officials said that minimum temperature is likely to increase by 2°C to 4°C above normal during the next three days.

Rainfall data from the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS) showed that Warangal recorded the highest rainfall at 10.5 mm, followed by Mulugu with 7.3 mm, Rangareddy at 5.5 mm, Jayashankar Bhupalpally with 4.8 mm, Jangaon at 4.5 mm, and Siddipet at 4.3 mm.

The IMD bulletin highlighted that “light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at isolated places across Telangana.” In Hyderabad, misty or hazy conditions are expected during the morning hours, with parts of the city likely to witness light rain or drizzle. The maximum and minimum temperatures in the city are projected to hover around 26°C and 21°C, respectively.
