Hyderabad: The energy department will convene a stakeholders’ conference on the proposed new clean and green energy policy at HICC on Thursday.
Deputy chief minister Bhatti Vikramarka, in an official statement, stated Telangana’s peak power demand was projected to escalate from 15,623 MW in 2023-24 to 20,968 MW in 2027-28 and subsequently to 31,809 MW in 2034-35. The energy requirement is anticipated to surge from 85,644 MUs in 2023-24 to 1,15,347 MUs in 2027-28, ultimately reaching 1,50,040 MUs in 2034-35.
Furthermore, Telangana’s endeavour to accomplish this objective in an environmentally sustainable manner by incorporating 20,000 MW of renewable energy capacity by 2030. To address the escalating demand whilst aligning with the country’s green energy aspirations, the govt proposes a new ‘Clean and Green Energy’ policy.
