The city police have arrested three more persons in connection with the Joy Jamima honeytrap case. The three persons, including a woman from Hyderabad, were reportedly found to have played a crucial role in supplying sedatives and sedative sprays to the Joy Jamima’s gang at high price.
The arrested were identified as Fatima Usman alias Joya, her husband Tanveer and Avinash Benjamin. The three were arrested in Hyderabad and were produced in a local court. They were brought to Visakhapatnam and produced in a local court, which sent them to 15-day judicial remand. The three accused were shifted to Visakhapatnam Central Prison.
It may be remembered that already main accused K. Joy Jamima from Murali Nagar, B. Venu Bhaskar Reddy and Kishore Vemula were arrested in the case and they are in the central prison.
During October this year, the city police busted the honeytrap case. Joy Jamima, with the help of Venu Bhaskar Reddy, reportedly approached men, especially from rich background, through social media or through some sources. She reportedly befriended them and cheated them in the name of love.
During her meeting with the victims, Joy Jamima reportedly gave drinks laced with some sedatives or sprayed perfume laced with sedatives on them, after which her accomplices used to come into action. The accused reportedly used to take private pictures of the men, and loot money by threatening to upload the photos on social media or forward them to their kin. The case came to light, after an NRI youth was allegedly cheated by the woman. After this case, a few more complaints were lodged against her in Kancharapalem and Bheemunipatnam police stations.
