6, including 4 of family injured in LPG cylinder blast in Visakhapatnam
Six people, including a family of four, sustained burn injuries from a cylinder blast in Visakhapatnam. The incident occurred when gas from an unnoticed leakage ignited upon switching on a light.

VISAKHAPATNAM: Six people, including four from a family, received burn injuries in a cylinder blast incident that caused a fire accident in the city late on Wednesday night.
The injured were identified as Mukka Apparao, his wife, and children Satyavathi (28), Chandra Sekhar (13), and Raja Sekhar (10). Of the four, three received serious burn injuries, and two other persons in the neighboring house received minor injuries.
According to Arilova Police Station Circle Inspector Malleswara Rao, Mukka Apparao, a small shop owner, resides in a rented house in Indra Nagar in the Dairy Farm area.
He went to his shop on Wednesday morning along with family members. Family members did not notice the leakage of gas from one of the two LPG cylinders in the house.
The leaked gas spread all over the house. After returning from the shop late at night, Apparao switched on the light, which ignited the flames, and the cylinder exploded.
With the impact of the explosion, one of the walls of the house totally collapsed. All four of the family were trapped in the flames.
Police and firefighters rushed to the area after receiving information from the locals. Fire department personnel doused the fire and stopped the leakage of gas.
The condition of Satyavathi (50% burn injuries), her children Chandra Sekhar (26%), and Rajasekhar (45%) are said to be serious. Arilova Police are investigating the case.
