Incessant drizzle adds to winter chill in state | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: For the second consecutive day, the city witnessed gloomy weather with incessant drizzle. The persistent cloudy skies added to the winter chill, leaving residents yearning for brighter days. Several areas of the city also experienced waterlogging and traffic congestion.
Hyderabad’s unpredictable rain patterns have disrupted daily life, with commuters facing traffic jams at major intersections across Hyderabad. “Just a week ago, we were experiencing summer-like heat. Now we have monsoon-like rains with constant chilly weather. The weather has become very unpredictable,” said Sunita Shah, a teacher from Begumpet. Earlier, it was stated that rainfall in key zones, including Charminar, Khairatabad, Kukatpally, LB Nagar, Secunderabad, and Serilingampally would remain low for the next five days.
Meanwhile, the state received varying amounts of rainfall, with districts like Warangal recording the highest rainfall of 6.1mm, followed by Mulugu with 3.5mm, Jayashankar with 2.0mm and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri with 2.4mm. In terms of minimum temperatures, districts like Adilabad recorded the lowest at 17.5°Celsius, while other regions like Hyderabad and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri hovered around 20.4°C and 20.5°C respectively.
According to weather expert T Balaji, “Once the cloudy conditions clear, the night temperatures will come down while the day temperatures will rise. At present, the cloudy conditions are keeping the day and night temperatures almost the same.” IMD said: ” Fog or hazy conditions are expected at isolated places in morning hours.”
