8 days & 1700 km roadtrip experience with my Nexon; Pros & cons noticed

8 days & 1700 km roadtrip experience with my Nexon; Pros & cons noticed BHPian rajchetan recently shared this with other enthusiasts: Hey guys a quick update on my 8 days across 1700 km in a Nexon Smart +P AMT Version. Let’s start with Cons: 1) Blind Spot – Thick A pillar is definitely a pain particularly in villages where anything can come from any where. (Took sometime getting a hang of it) 2) 120kms Speed Limit Beeps – it’s really a pain as this car even driven in a economical way catch up to 120kms and you can’t do anything about it other then slow down to below 115kms to avoid the sound.. GOI have done an excellent job and keeping the highway speeds in check. 3) Rare Seat Belt Warning – My 7year old likes to sleep which becomes a problem, kids found a hack and keep the seat belt on always. 4) Steering wheel – No no not at all. Get rid of it TML this is good to look at but bad to use. It dose not impact me in driving but feels odd every time I honk which I rarely do. As you will have noticed all the cons are mainly me finding reasons to complain hence you can understand how much of a joy this was for me and my family of 4. Let me highlight few points I loved the most.. Loved: Space in cabin in boot. As we were on road trip we had 1 30kg bag, 4 cabin bags and Pillows and Some smaller stuff everywhere was easily stocked in. AMT – I hear and read lots of post about it being slow jerky etc, but i loved it used most of the time in City mode used the pedal shifter few time only but once o learned how to drive the AMT I loved. Even on Coorg roads and on Bellary Road. I was always comfortable. This is coming from a DSG user.. so believe me when I say this AMT is very easy to drive around if you know how too. Pedal Shifter – I took some time to realise the AMT is slow to reduce speed and found a quick way around by dropping gears using the pedal shifter. It works a bit slow, not like a manual down shift but works well enough during sudden breaking. Ride and Handling – Broken roads are handled like a pro.. way better than my Tiguan. And superb feedback. Overall an amazing car, that my family loved! Route – Bangalore to Mantralaya to Hampi to Coorg to Mysore to Bangalore Days – 8 Days Kms – 1700 Economy – 16.5 tank full method Car – Zoomcar – Tata Nexon Smart + PAMT Check out BHPian comments for more insights and information.
