Hyderabad: A cook from Odisha allegedly stabbed a student with a knife in Yousufguda after finding out that the latter was in love with a girl whom he liked.
Police said that the cook Naseeruddin Khan called student Sai Praveen to have a word with him on Thursday night and in a fit of rage, took out the knife and attacked Praveen. The student suffered injuries in the attack and was taken to a hospital.
Khan, who works in a private hostel as a cook, took a liking to a woman who joined him as a helper. He even proposed to the woman, who rejected his proposal. This upset him.
Meanwhile, he came to know that the woman was getting close with Praveen, who resides in a nearby hostel. When Praveen went to meet him, the accused lost his cool and attacked him.
Police have registered a case of attempt to murder against Khan.
