Kannada Abhinaya Chakraborty Kiccha Sudeep’s much awaited mass action drama “Max” is one of the latest films released this Christmas. However, this movie which was released in Kannada on December 25, was released in Telugu on December 27. And let’s see in the review whether this film met the expectations of the Telugu audience.
Story:
Coming to the story.. Arjun Mahakshay (Kiccha Sudeep) known as Max has a solid track record and has been transferred and suspended for his actions in many places and finally has to take charge of a police station as a CI. But he starts his actions before the time when he is yet to take charge at that station. In this background, the sons of two ministers were sent to the police station for drugs and misbehaving with the lady police. But unexpectedly both of them die suspiciously in the same police station. This leads to a big problem for Max and the team. What are Max’s plans in this order? How did they both die? Why did you die? To know what Max will do for his team is a must watch movie on the silver screen.
Plus Points:
The biggest highlight of the film is Abhinaya Chakraborty’s Kiccha Sudeep. It can be said that this movie will be a feast not only for his fans but also for the mass audience. Sudeep’s screen presence as the main character is superb in this film. In addition to that, stylish action sequences on him all provide a good treat.
Also, Sudeep’s acting is pleasing in his mannerisms in the film. With this, from his side, he offers a complete feast that will definitely be enjoyed by everyone. Apart from this, some of his planning and mind game sequences are interesting.
Also, Varalakshmi Sarath Kumar, who appeared in the main roles in this movie, will impress in his role of a policeman with a negative shade. Also, Sunil also gave a solid performance in his role and along with them some famous actors from Tamil to Kannada did full justice to their roles.
Apart from these, there is one more impressive aspect of the movie, that is, the background score in the action sequences. Ajanish Loknath’s solid work elevates many scenes with good mass and stylish beats. Also the climax twist is good.
Minus Points:
This movie has elements to entertain the masses but it has to be said that there is no proper story. The sensitive point seen in the movie seems very routine. In addition to this, mass dialogues in some scenes are similar to those heard in many movies. This makes them feel a bit routine.
Along with these, the back drop in the movie also feels similar to Karthi’s “Khaidi”. Also the gang actors with Sudeep do a little over action in the movie. Mainly in the pre-climax, in a scene with Sudeep in the police station, the dialogues spoken by Sudeep feel very excessive.
If the director had reduced such things, the movie would have provided a natural feast. Yet some scenes are predictable. Besides this, it would have been better to show something for Sudeep’s back story. There is a small dissatisfaction with his role as he was given so many elevations and ended up being simple.
Technical category:
It can be said that the production values in this film are almost good. Mainly, it was shot in one night with good visuals. Good marks can be given to the technical team in this. Mainly cinematography and music are very plus. The camera moments in some scenes and Ajanish’s score give a solid impression. Telugu version dubbing is good. Also the editing is fine. The VFX are very weak at some places.
And when it comes to the director Vijay Karthikeyan, it can be said that even though he has taken a routine line, he has succeeded in directing the film to the mass audience without boring an average viewer. Racey screenplay engages in the movie as the main character. Sudeep used his screen presence well with good mass moments and gave a decent treat. With this, his work is good for this movie.
Verdict:
Overall, this movie “Max” will give a good mass treat to Sudeep fans to the mass audience. Especially the mass action moments in the movie, Sudeep’s solid screen presence is pleasing in the movie. Otherwise a little routine line here and there some scenes seem over. Apart from these, this movie engages the audience.
