Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy paid tributes to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh who passed away on Thursday. Mr. Reddy, who visited Delhi on Friday, conveyed his condolences to Mr. Singh’s family members.

Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud, MP Anil Yadav and others too paid tributes.

The Chief Minister said, in a post on X, that Mr. Singh was “one of the greatest economists, leaders, reformer, and above all, a humanitarian of our times”.

Ministers from the State Cabinet expressed condolences. “His tenure as the Prime Minister for a decade (2004-14) witnessed the India-US civil nuclear agreement and his successful handling of the 2008 global recession (in India) and formulation of MNREGS – the world’s biggest job guarantee scheme that was rolled out in UPA’s 2nd term which the coalition won with Dr. Singh as the PM,” said D. Sridhar Babu, IT and Industries Minister in a post on X.

Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said that Mr. Singh was a visionary leader who dedicated his life to India’s progress, transforming the nation through inclusive growth and economic reforms. “His legacy will forever inspire generations to come. May his remarkable journey be a guiding light for the nation,” he posted on X.  Other Ministers from the State Cabinet recalled their association with the former Prime Minister.

Governor Jishnu Dev Varma said that Mr. Singh was one of the most esteemed national leaders in the political history of India. He left an indelible mark on every position he held during his illustrious career.

“Mr. Singh, a renowned economist of global stature, was a pioneer of economic reforms in India. Through his visionary work, he guided the nation on the path of progress and elevated its standing on the world stage,” the Governor stated.
