Hyderabad: Dead bodies of a sub-Inspector, a woman constable and computer operator were fished out from a lake in Kamareddy district, nearly 116 kms from Hyderabad. The three victims went missing on Wednesday, following a thorough search. This led the police to a lake in Adloor Yellareddy close to Kamareddy town.
The search began with Shruthi whose family grew concerned when she did not return home by 11 am. Since the family was unable to reach her by call, they contacted her colleague. After which, the police were informed about her disappearance, it added.
Tried to Contact SI and Woman Constable
The police tried to contact SI and the woman constable using mobile signals but could not reach them. On Wednesday, Sruthi was on a day off. Her family was expecting her to be at home by 11 am, but she never did. This worried her family, who contacted her by phone multiple times but received no response.
Then, they spoke with a colleague of Shruthi who also was not able to get in touch with her. The worried family started to look for her, and soon the police learnt about all three missing people.
“It was late on Wednesday evening when we were informed that three individuals were missing. After tracking their mobile phone signals, our team reached the lake and found two pairs of footwear and two mobile phones by its shore,” said Kamareddy SP Sindhu Sharma.
The search led the police and family to the lake where the lifeless bodies of the three victims were found. The police said Shruthi had professional contact with the other two victims. While Shruthi was herself a divorcee, Nikhil was unmarried and Sai Kumar was married.
The police are waiting for post mortem reports to ascertain the cause of the deaths.
