
Varun Dhawan’s Baby John, an official remake of Vijay’s Theri, was released in theaters on December 25th as a Christmas special and has received negative responses from audiences.
Many viewers who watched Baby John in theaters commented that it was an unnecessary remake and that Varun Dhawan doesn’t even match 10% of Vijay’s swag from the original version.

Following this, many social media users compared Vijay’s remade movies in other languages and shared their opinions online.
Chiranjeevi’s Khaidi No. 150, released in 2017, was an official remake of Vijay’s Kaththi. While Khaidi No. 150 became a blockbuster due to Chiranjeevi’s star power, it was considered a poor remake compared to the original version.

Similarly, Varun Dhawan’s Baby John also failed to meet expectations. Despite Varun Dhawan giving his all to match Vijay’s swag, it didn’t work for him.
Vijay’s screen presence in both original movies was highly appreciated by audiences. However, in the remakes, star actors Chiranjeevi and Varun Dhawan couldn’t recreate the same magic, leading to what many on social media have labeled as failures.
