Hyderabad: Congress MLC and former minister T Jeevan Reddy on Saturday demanded that the Centre honour former prime minister Manmohan Singh with Bharat Ratna award posthumously.
“Honouring Manmohan Singh, a great economist who pulled the country out of an economic crisis and put it on the path of progress, will be a fitting tribute to the great leader. Prime Minister Narendra Modi should announce Bharat Ratna to Singh,” he said.
At a separate media conference, govt whip Adi Srinivas criticised BRS MLC K Kavitha for announcing that she would hold a BC sabha on Jan 3. “BCs do not want to rally under the leadership of upper caste people. They have their own leadership. When the BRS was in the govt, why didn’t she raise her voice for the welfare of BCs,” he asked.
