A cyclist was killed in a hit and run case in Madhapur early on Saturday (December 28, 2024).
The deceased, identified as Ganesh, 33, worked as a private employee. He was heading to work around 6.40 a.m. when a speeding car rammed into his cycle from the rear near Parvat Nagar junction.
“Due to the impact of the collision, the man fell down and his head hit the footpath railing on the side. He died on the spot due to excessive bleeding,” Madhapur Inspector S Krishna Mohan said.
On receiving a call from commuters, the police rushed to the spot and shifted the body for postmortem evaluation.
According to the official, the car driver has been taken into police custody for questioning. The Madhapur police are yet to receive a formal complaint from the deceased’s family to initiate an investigation.
Incidentally, two youngsters were killed in an accident at the same spot a day earlier, on Friday (December 27, 2024)). The official said that spot was about 100 metres away from where the current accident was reported.
