The pacer achieved the milestone when he dismissed Travis Head (1) in the post-lunch session. Both Bumrah and Jadeja achieved the feat in their 44th Test. He is the 12th Indian bowler to reach the 200-wicket mark in Tests. He also became the first bowler to reach the milestone with an average of under 20.
The recently retired spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was the quickest among Indians to have taken 200 wickets. The legendary bowler achieved the feat in 37th Test.
