Hyderabad: Osmania University awarded the doctorate to commerce department research scholar Sheelam Nageshwar Rao for his research titled ‘Social Security for Construction Workers – A Study of select Districts in Telangana’. Dr Rao successfully completed his PhD under the guidance of senior professor and former president of the All India Commerce Association, Prof KV Achalapathi.
Dr Rao completed his degree with first-class distinction, receiving a national merit scholarship. He secured a top rank in the state-level entrance exam for PG and was admitted to the Commerce department at OU.
Later, Dr Rao joined OU’s commerce department as a research scholar. During his study, he attended several national and international seminars, presented research papers, and published them in reputed journals. He also earned a national fellowship from the Indian Council of Social Science Research.
