The Kulsumpura Police nabbed three notorious habitual offenders involved in multiple cases of robbery and snatching across Hyderabad and Cyberabad, leading to the detection of six property offences.
The accused have been identified as Syed Abul Hassan, 32, Syed Taleb Ali alias Sameer, 23 and Saif Ali Mirza, 19. The arrest comes after the robbery of a labourer in the early hours of December 24, when the victim, R. Krishna, 33, was returning home from work on his two-wheeler. “At approximately 4:30 am, while travelling along the 100-foot road near Puranapool, Krishna was accosted by three individuals on another two-wheeler. The suspects threatened him with dire consequences and forcibly took his smartphone and vehicle keys before fleeing the scene,” said the police.
The police seized incriminating material from the suspects, including two motorcycles, one of which belonged to the victim, a country-made pistol with two live rounds, two knives, a knuckle puncher, and 11 stolen mobile phones linked to various cases across Hyderabad and Cyberabad.
The investigation further revealed the criminal histories of the accused, particularly Syed Abul Hassan, who had previously been involved in 17 cases ranging from theft to attempted murder across multiple police jurisdictions. His accomplice, Syed Taleb Ali, had been implicated in several cases of theft and arson. Both individuals have confessed to their involvement in the current offences as well as previous incidents.
The suspects are linked to cases of house trespass, robbery and extortion registered at police stations in Attapur, Langer House, Gachibowli and Narsingi.
