The induction ceremony of new members of the World Malayalee Council (WMC), A.P. province, was held at a hotel at Sheelanagar in Visakhapatnam on Saturday evening.
Johny Kuruvila, WMC Global chairman, inaugurated the function. Abraham Varughese, Director of the Naval Science and Technological Laboratory(NSTL), Visakhapatnam, was the chief guest. A.V. Anoop, (former WMC global president) participated as a special guest.
S.G. Vijayakumar, president, WMC A.P. Province, presided over the function. V. Venugopalan Nair, WMC A.P. Province chairman, and George Thomas, general secretary, WMC A.P. Province, spoke.
The WMC donated an RO plant, costing ₹1,05,000, to the Aganampudi Government Hospital, four wheelchairs and 11 mobility sticks, tower speaker music system and public address and wheelchair with mechanical system were donated to Care & Love, an NGO, working for the benefit of visually challenged at Madhavadhara.
WMC Global and India Region representatives Shaji M Mathew, Nadakkal Sasi, P.N. Ravi, P Ramachandran and Lalitha Ramachandran, and K.N. Sebastian, president, Hyderabad province, were present.
