Bengal Tigers defeated Hyderabad Toofans 3-2 in a nail-bitting match of the Hockey India League. Bengal Tigers scored through Jugraj Singh (9th minute), Sukhjeet Singh (20th) and Affan Yousuf (36th), while Timothy Daniel (41st) and Arthur de Sloover (59th) scored for Hyderabad. In the second match, Soorma Hockey Club beat Tamil Nadu Dragons 4-1 in the shootout after a 1-1 draw in regulation time.

Haryana Steelers win maiden Panchkula title
Haryana Steelers produced an outstanding display on the mat to beat Patna Pirates 32-23 and clinch their maiden Pro Kabaddi League crown. With show-stopper Mohammadreza Shadloui in full flow, Haryana Steelers won the final with consummate ease. For Haryana, Shivam Patare scored nine points, Shadloui seven and Vinay added six more. The champions were awarded Rs 3 crore, while the runners-up got Rs 1.8 crore.

Ashi clinches maiden women’s 3P national title
Local shooter Ashi Chouksey overcame a strong field, which had the likes of Olympian Anjum Moudgil, to clinch her maiden national title in the 50m rifle 3 positions event. Ashi shot a superb 466.7, 3.1 points clear of two-time Olympian Anjum. Sakshi Padekar won the bronze with an effort of 451.3. Anjum, partnering fellow Olympian Sift Kaur Samra and Vanshika Sahi, totalled 1766 for the team gold for Punjab.
