Hyderabad: Telangana BJP chief and Union coal minister G Kishan Reddy on Monday alleged that Congress is politicising former prime minister Manmohan Singh‘s demise issue.
At a press conference, Kishan Reddy said it was a known fact that Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi had insulted Singh on numerous occasions. “The Congress is utilising Singh’s death for political purposes. This behaviour reflects lack of cultural integrity within the party,” he alleged.
He said the central govt intends to establish a memorial in Singh’s name. He said Congresss had humiliated former PM PV Narasimha Rao and former president Pranab Mukherjee . While state govts declared a seven-day mourning period for Singh, Rahul Gandhi has decided to travel to Vietnam for New Year celebrations, he said, taking a dig at the MP.
Meanwhile, Telangana BJP spokesperson and grandson of Narasimha Rao, NV Subhash said Rahul Gandhi showed utter disregard for Singh by going on a holiday.
