Hyderabad: A constable attached to Kucharam police station in Medak district died by suicide in the police quarters on Sunday.
Police officials said that before taking the extreme step, Sai Kumar called his daughter and informed her of his decision.
The police are investigating the angle of an extramarital problem in connection with the suicide. “He had been having an extra-marital affair for the past few years and it even came to the notice of the local police station as the woman’s family raised objections. Perhaps due to this pressure, Sai Kumar might have taken the extreme step,” the police said.
Police officials said there were allegations that her family members were demanding money. Acting on a complaint lodged by his family members, the Medak police have registered a case of abetment to suicide.
