Specifications – Range, Power, Charging Time
The powertrain setup of the Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e consists of two battery pack options – 228bhp, 59kWh and 281bhp, 79kWh – with BYD’s Blade cell technology. The carmaker states that the EVs feature the brand’s “compact three-in-one powertrain” comprising a motor, an inverter, and a transmission. The RWD (rear-wheel drive) system comes as standard. Mahindra might offer these EVs with an AWD drivetrain setup at a later stage. The smaller battery pack promises an ARAI-certified range of 556km, while the larger battery delivers a range of 682km.

The EV’s 61kWh battery version is claimed to accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 6.7 seconds. There are three drive modes – Range, Everyday, and Race – along with a Boost mode that provides 10 seconds of maximum torque. Buyers will receive a lifetime warranty on the battery pack. Mahindra claims these batteries can be charged from 20 percent to 80 percent in just 20 minutes using a 175kW DC fast charger. Mahindra will also offer an 11.2kWh AC charger or a 7.3kWh AC charger with the EVs.
The Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e are equipped with advanced features such as semi-active suspension, adjustable regenerative braking, brake-by-wire technology, electric power steering with variable gear ratios, and disc brakes on all four wheels, enhancing their overall performance.
