The speakers at the valedictory of the two-day national symposium on ‘Accident prevention in chemical and pharma industries with sustainable development’ said that the most common cause of accidents is human negligence and lack of knowledge, and stressed on the need for improving safety systems.
The two-day symposium concluded at the Government Institute of Chemical Engineering (GIC) here on Tuesday. G.D. Yadav, former Vice-Chancellor of Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), Mumbai, participated as the chief guest.
Certificates were distributed to all the participants and awards given to the deserving industries. The industrialists shared their views in the brainstorming session and the experts responded to their queries.
GICE Principal K.V. Ramana and HOD Lakshman Rao said that the suggestions given by all regulating authorities, industry people as well as academicians would be shared as guidelines to frame the policies at the respective industries, and the same shall be communicated to the authorities concerned in the State government.
