Hyderabad: A class 10 student of a govt school ended his life after he was allegedly chided and beaten by the family of a girl, his classmate, to whom he had sent New Year wishes on Jan 1.
The incident took place in Bheemuni Malla Reddy village in Ghambirraopet mandal in Rajanna Sircilla district.
The mother of the 16-year-old boy alleged that she was also threatened by the girl’s family. Hurt by the incident, the boy took the extreme step at his home, police said.
On coming to know about the boy’s death, the girl’s family reportedly left the village.
Police are investigating the case.
