Hyundai Creta EV, the first mass-market electric offering from the South Korean automaker, is all set to hit Indian roads on 17th January 2025. The model will also make its official public debut at this year’s Bharat Mobility Show in New Delhi. Ahead of its unveiling, the carmaker has released the first teaser video of the electric SUV, revealing its silhouette and front fascia.

Hyundai Creta EV – Design

The teased model sports a dual-tone Blue and Black paint scheme, featuring a blanked-off grille and a charging port at the front. The teaser also highlights the newly designed alloy wheels of the electric SUV. However, design elements such as the connected LED DRLs, roof rails, and connected LED taillamps appear to have been carried forward from the ICE (internal combustion engine) version of the SUV. Previous spy images reveal that the Creta EV will also feature slightly revised front and rear bumpers and EV-specific badges both inside and out.

Several EV-specific changes will be made to the cabin as well. The Creta EV will have a newly designed three-spoke steering wheel, replacing the regular flat-bottom unit. Just near the steering column, there will be a drive selector controller. The HVAC controls on the center panel will resemble those of the Alcazar SUV, which received an update last year. The center console will also be slightly different from the regular Creta.

Hyundai Creta EV – Range & Battery

Specifications of the Creta EV remain under wraps. However, speculation suggests that Hyundai will equip the EV with a 45 kWh battery pack and an electric motor. Compared to its rivals, the electric Creta will have a slightly smaller battery pack, which is expected to deliver a range of around or over 350 km. The electric motor is expected to produce 138 bhp and 255 Nm of torque, the same setup currently used in the Hyundai Kona EV, which is on sale in global markets.

Hyundai Creta EV – Price Expectations

The Creta EV will compete against the Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, and the upcoming Maruti e-Vitara and Mahindra XUV.e9. Maruti Suzuki’s first electric SUV, the e-Vitara, will arrive in March 2025, while Mahindra’s new electric SUV will go on sale this month. Prices of the electric Creta are expected to range between Rs 19 lakh and Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).
