Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao has urged party workers to step up their campaign against what he described as the Congress-led Telangana government’s misgovernance and corruption. In a New Year address on Thursday, the former minister commended the dedication of party cadres over the past year in exposing the alleged failures of the Congress regime and vowed to continue their struggle to safeguard public interests.
Calling the party workers soldiers, KTR lauded their relentless spirit and described their efforts as the backbone of the party’s movement to protect Telangana’s self-respect. “Your unwavering commitment over the past year has not only fortified the party but also inspired its leadership,” he said.
Highlighting key protests spearheaded by the BRS, Mr. Rama Rao pointed to the agitation against corruption in the Musi River development project and the Lagcherla farmers’ struggle over land acquisition, underscoring the party’s dedication to State welfare. He also mentioned significant victories, including the reversal of a ₹100-crore Adani-linked project and the halting of an ethanol factory proposal in Nirmal.
KTR accused the Congress government of employing deceptive policies and oppression to stifle dissent. “Despite wrongful cases and intimidation, you have stood your ground. Your resolve is both historic and extraordinary,” he remarked. The Sircilla MLA called for unity within the party to counter what he termed the Congress’ “divisive politics” and reiterated the party’s slogan, “Telangana First.” He urged cadres to expose the Congress’ alleged betrayals and work toward protecting the State’s future.
“We will continue to fight for Telangana’s self-respect and secure its rightful place. Together, we can ensure justice for our people,” KTR added.
