Telangana CM congratulates Arjuna Awardee Deepti from Warangal dist


Hyderabad, Jan 2 (UNI) Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy congratulated Deepti Jivanji, a young athlete from Warangal district of Telangana, who won a bronze medal for India in the Paralympics, for being selected for the prestigious sports award Arjuna Award 2024.

The CM also congratulated @DGukesh (Chess), @ Harmanpreet (Hockey), Praveen Kumar (Para-athlete), @ Manubhaker (Shooting), who were selected for the Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award for their outstanding performance in sports.

Apart from the Khel Ratna, the Sports Ministry also named a 32-athlete list for the Arjuna Awards for outstanding performance in Sports and Games 2024 on Thursday.

As part of the Government’s sports policy to encourage young athletes who excel in international and national sports, the Chief Minister has already presented a cash prize of Rs 1 crore and Rs 10 lakh to coach Nagpuri Ramesh, the CMO said on its official ‘X’ social media platform on Thursday.

At the same time, it is known that Deepti has been given a Group-2 government job and a 500-yard plot of land in Warangal.

On this occasion, the chief minister said that the young athletes of Telangana should excel further, and the Young India Sports University and the sports complexes to be built across the state will contribute to that.

The CM congratulated the players and coaches who were selected for the Arjuna and Dronacharya Awards for their outstanding performance in various sports in 2024, the CMO tweeted.
