Hyderabad: Telangana high court has warned that it may summon the principal secretaries of the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh govts for failing to file their counters in the case related to the alleged unauthorised collection of deposits by Margadarsi Financiers.
A division bench of Justice Sujoy Paul and Justice G. Radharani said: “This court may direct the personal presence of the principal secretaries to govt concerned, in person or through video conference, if the state does not file their respective counters within three weeks.”
The bench also granted the RBI three weeks to file an additional counter regarding Margadarsi’s reply, which includes annexures spanning 200 pages. During the special hearing, the bench questioned the negligence in the case, which is being heard following a Supreme Court suggestion. Both AP and Telangana informed the bench that their respective officials had been notified.
The bench also directed that a copy of Margadarsi’s reply be provided to former Congress MP Vundavilli Arun Kumar by Jan 6. The registry was instructed to send a copy of order to advocates general of both states to ensure principal secretaries are informed. The case was adjourned to Jan 31.
